Identificar los terrenos con probabilidades de que ocurra
un peligro geomorfológico dentro del territorio nacional.

Esta cobertura forma parte del Mapa de la Zonificación
de Peligros Geomorfológicos de México escala 1 a
1,000,000.
Este proyecto fue realizado para el Instituto Nacional de
Ecología por medio del Programa Universitario del
Medio Ambiente (PUMA). La elaboración corrió a cargo
del Dr. Mario Arturo Ortiz Pérez del Instituto de Geografía
UNAM.

Para la clasificación del tipo de peligros se tomo en
cuenta su origen, así como la estructura y morfología
refiriéndose estas a los patrones y geoformas donde se
generan o desencadenan.
Otros aspectos que se analizan son los factores y
mecanismos que condicionan los procesos, estos se
dividen en estáticos y dinámicos, los primeros
representan las características de orden indirecto como
el rasgo litológico, la magnitud de las pendientes, los
tipos de suelos y el grado de cobertura vegetal. los
factores dinámicos representan a los factores del clima.

diversos peligros
2) Se traza el mapa con los polígonos correspondientes a
sobre la Carta Topográfica escala 1,000,000 de INEGI

5) De la cobertura digitalizada se preseleccionaron los
